HUMYF Annual Video Interviews
This Sunday, August 22nd from 11:15am-5:00pm

We would like for as many people as possible, youth and adults, who have been involved with HUMYF Events and Programming to do an interview on video. You can talk about your experiences at BigStuf, Jamaica, Salkehatchie, Bethlehem Center, SNL, Sunday School, Small Groups, and more....

We would like to use some of the video clips for our upcoming Youth Service and HUMYF DVD that will be available for new visitors. It won't take long and it will be painless, I promise:) We want to be able to share with the rest of our church family about our experiences, so they can share in our joy and Praise the Lord!

Frenemies: What to Do When Friends Turn Mean by Hayley DiMarco

Friends and enemies--sometimes it's hard to tell the two apart. Especially when some people seem to be both. In her bestselling book Mean Girls, Hayley DiMarco counseled teens about how to handle mean girls at school or church who were making their lives miserable. But what's a girl to do when her own friends are the ones doing those mean and hurtful things--being her BFF one day but betraying her the next? Frenemies helps girls figure it out.

In this new book from big-sister mentor Hayley DiMarco, teens will learn why friends act the way they do and how they should react when the mean people in their lives are the people they love and trust the most.

Invisible Children
HUMYF LaVida Local SUPPORTS INVISIBLE CHILDREN Get Involved!!!
In the spring of 2003, three young filmmakers traveled to Africa in search of a story. What started out as a filmmaking adventure transformed into much more when these boys from Southern California discovered a tragedy that disgusted and inspired them, atragedy where children are both the weapons and the victims.

After returning to the States, they created the documentary "Invisible Children: Rough Cut," a film that exposes the tragic realities of northern Uganda.s night commuters and child soldiers.

The film was originally shown to friends and family, but has now been seen by millions of people. The overwhelming response has been, "How can I help?" To answer this question, the non-profit Invisible Children, Inc. was created, giving compassionate individuals an effective way to respond to the situation.

HUMYF will be supporting "Invisible Children" through money raised at "LaVida Local". Come to LaVida Local and find out more!
